Having the correct mouthpiece that suits your level and style of playing is most important. Although the basic configuration is the same for all baritone saxophone mouthpieces, subtle differences can significantly affect the sound and playing feel. Yamaha has a top quality baritone sax mouthpiece to meet the musical requirements of players.

A particularly important parameter for woodwind players is the tip opening. More advanced players will be able to take advantage of the fuller volume and better projection permitted by mouthpieces having larger tip openings.

Yamaha Standard Series mouthpieces are made out of high quality phenol resin [plastic] and feature a design based on their top grade Custom Series, which are made from Ebonite. The standard series are extremely consistant in specifications and playing quality and offer excellent value for money.

The Yamaha BS5C Baritone saxophone mouthpiece provides a somewhat richer tone with great variety of colours and has excellent flexibility and response.
