Enrico 15" Student Plus Series Viola Outfit.

These violas are made to suit a beginning student on a limited budget but still keeping the quality at an acceptable level for most teachers. All these violas include a "basic setup".

There are not very big technical differences between violin and viola, but they are subtle and all together give the viola that distinctive, warmer tone and character.

From the highest to the lowest : TUNING

Violin strings are E A D G
Viola strings are the same A D G + C which is what makes the viola sound warmer. Viola strings are longer and thicker with greater tension.

To make it easier for younger students to reach the whole length of the neck of the instrument, sizing of the viola length to match the individual is important.

There are various size violas - 12" , 13", 14" , 15" , 15.5" & 16"

  • 12" violas equalivant in size to a 1/2 size violin
  • 13" violas equalivant in size to a 3/4 size violin
  • 14" violas equalivant in size to a 4/4 size violin
  • 15" , 15.5" & 16" violas are bigger in size than 4/4 size violins.

Please note - Shoulder Rest is "not" included in the price.
